Make your mark with Nextracker.We are looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer - Steel in Sorocaba (São Paulo, Brazil), will be responsible for technical leadership for product development and launch of Nextracker hardware products. This team member will work with Nextracker product development and manufacturing teams. Responsibilities will include design for manufacturability review and supplier readiness and value engineering activities.Primary ResponsibilityME - Steel program encompasses all the activities within an organization to define, develop and launch a new or improved product. ME-Steel Engineer will focus all ME activities with a specific focus on steel mechanical product development and packaging.She/he will be expected to:Lead technical qualification efforts to support product launches. Support product development using the overall prioritization, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria for product qualification and ramp. Focus will balance quality, customer satisfaction, cost, and sustainabilityCoordinate product management, engineering, quality, project engineering, applications engineering and vendors to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items, ensures conformance with program task schedules and costsWork with senior technical leads to develop technical innovation strategy for the programIdentify, and analyze problems, taking the initiative to implement improvements identified with a recognized business benefitLead packaging and logistics development and cost reduction initiatives for assigned suppliersCoordinate the day-to-day activities required to deliver all projects and deliverables on timeCoordination of the local market activitiesIdentify and mitigate risksHost recurring project meetings and deliver status updates to all stakeholdersManage external dependenciesManage teams of contract support personnel at multiple locationsActively participate in client discussions, meetings, and business development opportunities as neededSupport product development, sales, and marketing as requestedInternal customer voice; an advocate for the customer within NextrackerProfessional/Education:Experience with CM or OEM manufacturing including working regularly with one or more factories on process development, DFM, tooling readiness, and NPI product launches. Preferred: Experience developing industrial packaging designs or implementing in the factory for international shipmentPreferred but not required: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experienceSuperior communication skillsKnowledge of complex international supply chain procurement and logistics systemsUnderstanding of dealing with customer support and O&M issuesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated leadership capabilities with proven management experiencePassion for solar is a plusAvailability to travel roughly 55%-60% to startInterpersonal/communication:Fluent oral and written communications in English and Portuguese from BrazilFluent oral and written communication in Spanish is a plusStrong cross-functional communication and collaboration skillsResults orientation and demonstrated ability to think out of the box to drive resultsAbility to handle ambiguity and respond quickly and flexiblyAutonomous.
